My big girl, Miss Ava, the nearly eight foot long Colombian Red Tail boa that we rescued (along with her sister) about five years ago moved on this past year. I couldn’t keep her any longer, she needed to continue her mission of educating the public on the joy and beauty of large reptiles. A lovely young couple from Albany, who had the space and knowledge, agreed to adopt her after my sister died. I miss my big girl, she was the perfect pet for me. (Although my devoted spouse said she was more like furniture, but that was just his opinion.) Right now Hanna is home, which means, that’s right, Indiana Sunshine is staying here too. This brings the pet total right now to: Caesar the oldest Guinea Pig ever; Coco the Ball of Python; Axel the World’s Best K9; Scooter who is Mr Special; and running about the same size as Caesar, our Indie. It’s kind of like a little zoo, but it is also nice. Never quiet, but hey who needs solitude when you have all of this fur and scales?
