One Of A Kind

We have spoken several times here about how we are Human Beings, not Human Doings.  But it was brought to my attention (again) today, so I guess we’re revisiting.  Which is good, this time it’s a little different.

There is an enormously powerful and positive movement right now about the acceptability of us just occupying our skins, our space, our bodies.  How, no matter the size nor shape, we have value and we have agency.  No one should be able to say that we, as a person, need to change, need to alter, because of the standards of another.

If we behave negatively, cause harm?  Of course we should be reprimanded immediately, and called to address/correct our actions; be held accountable.  But to merely carry out our lives, move about in the world?  No, we don’t have to answer to anyone.

To be our best selves, our most human, we must live in a true and genuine way.  To live our best lives, to go forward and follow the path we set before we arrived here and donned our physical bodies, we must understand that we don’t owe anyone anything.

To be the best version of ourselves, we need only direct ourselves to our

Life Purpose.

At this moment in time, on our planet, in our culture, across the globe, there are warriors who are fighting the battle against injustice and ignorance.  More so now than there have ever been before.

These sacred souls are primarily the Average Jane and Average Joe.  They are mostly not someone rich nor famous nor even considered all that “special” by mainstream media.  But, they have chosen to enrich all of our lives by doing the difficult work.

I would bet that everyone reading this has come across one or more of them.  They are here amongst us, and they are us.  They are often the quiet prophets, but they are also the outspoken rally leaders.

They are BEING their most human self by trying to make us all better.  What we can learn from them, and what we can do to help, is to begin in a silent and intentional way.  Sitting with our stillness will open up answers we had trouble hearing due to all of the day-to-day noise and garbage.

When we occupy our time and mind with positivity, grace, lovingkindness, good people, and that which brings joy, we are bettering the whole.  We are being our best human selves.

We don’t always have to “do” – this is a time for us to “be” – it is a time for us to support and to assist.  We can put that into practice, we can BE our best self, for the higher and greater good of all, from our own small corner of the world, sending healing to one and all, being the foundation for our improved future.

HERE is a perfect example of how we can all participate.

Persistently Cyclical and Occasionally Damp

You’ve probably heard of the idea that life is a boat ride, the world our river (or ocean).  We are rowing along, doing the work, navigating as best we can.

Water, sometimes roaring rapid-like, takes us for a ride.  Not necessarily “off course” but certainly in directions we hadn’t thought we were headed.  Perhaps we never aimed our craft over there, at all.

And yet.  Here we are.  Bobbing in the waves, floating about, where we had no clue we would end up.

This is what the Universe wants to remind us:

tides and currents.

Much like the saying, Time and Tide waits for no person, we are not always in charge of where we sail.  Nor are we the ones who get to decide on when to tie up safely and wait out the flash flood or tsunami.

I mean, we ARE.  Or rather, we were.  When we set this whole shit-show in motion.  But, we weren’t actually HERE, wearing our meatsuits and living this physical life, sitting in a dinghy being tossed and splashed.

And now that we’re rowing merrily down the stream, not every single part of it is truly a dream.  Some of it is downright nightmarish.

Which is where the whole Acceptance Lesson has to be revisited.  We just need to sit back sometimes.  And let the water lead.  Go gently along, where our little rivers and tiny seas need us to go.

It’s not always an easy choice.  In fact, it can be extremely challenging.  We have the strength though, I know we do.

And, look at what our validation is saying.  We can always pick up our boat and portage until a new option appears.  It’s all about the opportunities.

is to say that I’m down to only one job now.  I had a day off.  I rested some and I socialized some.  Beginning my new work week on Friday, I’ll keep you posted, and take some more pictures.

Exploration and Discovery

We just arrived home from an exotic vacation.  Okay, not quite.  But we DID leave town!  And it WAS a great trip.  It simply wasn’t the one we thought we’d be taking.

There are things we can plan for, and unforeseen situations we cannot.  Our get-away did not go exactly as we thought it would.

And that brings us to what the Universe wants us to focus on, the current message.

Go where the road takes you.

We begin this life with a blueprint, a Big Picture sort of idea.  What we are left to organize on our own, later, are the tiny details.  Add to this mix Free Will Choice, and we end up with the types of lives we actually participate in.

Our Team, our loved ones, our own inner compass, all factor in to where we go, what we do, who we spend time with.  And, most importantly, how well we bounce back from those “unexpected” bumps in the road, the detours which take us to places we had no clue we’d be going.

It’s a soul lesson, these re-routing maneuvers.  We learn from the way we handle it, how we feel, and whether we repeat the same sort of behaviour.  Our goal, obviously, is roll along with compassion and understanding.

Each one of us know though, that’s not always how we react.  Are we doing better than the last time?  Sometimes yes, sometimes no.  Are we trying?  Alrighty then, that totally counts.

It is definitely the Journey, and not the destination.

Here’s a view from our drive home.  It was, as I said, not the trip we thought it would be.  But wow, it certainly was a very VERY good one.

Dependably Safe

There are situations and circumstances which simply cannot be entirely controlled.  There are times when we aren’t the ones in charge.  We are NOT always the bus drivers of our own lives.

Even though we did sketch out our life plan, we are not really the ones running this show.  What I heard earlier is a reminder…….

to trust.

When I’m on my bike, pedaling along in the designated lane, I have complete faith in all those drivers behind me.  I must absolutely believe that none of them will get distracted/have a stroke/look away and leave their part of the road to smash into mine.

Every day we all walk out of our homes and wear that exact sort of trusting garment.  We have to, there’s no other way to get anything done.

What the Universe wants us to realize is, that’s fine.  We can be alert to our lack of control, but we never need to dwell on it.   Or even, give it a second thought.  Things happen.  It’s a fact.

The other fact is, the trust we put in others is what reinforces our soul, and connects us with everyone else.  We hand over bits of ourselves constantly; others entrust us with their precious belongings, too.  That’s part of cohabiting here.

To trust is also about faith, and believing.  Having enough security to know that we’re okay.  Because, we are.

In today’s draw, we are allowed to go even further down this path.

“Believing in Magic  ~

‘True magic is abounding in my life!’

Card Meaning:

It is indeed a magical Universe.  Spiritual dimensions and mystical realms are only a thought away.  The key to opening these doors is to trust in something you cannot see or hear.

You can have doubts yet still believe in a vast and mysterious universe, where signs, symbols, and coincidences reveal secret messages.  Even if your faith is the size of a mustard seed, magic can abound.  Believe!

The Universe wants you to know:

Some things are true, even if you don’t believe them.  It’s hard to comprehend how something as heavy as a jumbo jet can fly, but it does.

When you make an overseas call, it’s hard to believe that your voice travels into space and bounces back, but it does.

And it’s sometimes hard to believe that angels are looking over us, but they are.  Here’s to believing in magic.

Questions to ask yourself:

How can I access even more magic in my life?  What is the most important way for me to step into true magic?  If I truly believed in magic, in what ways would my life be different?

Affirmation:

True magic is abounding in my life!”

Today’s Kitchen Adventures:

began early, we got up (not before noon, though) and hit the Farmer’s Market.  Bringing home a HUGE amount of spinach.  (The Instagram version.)

We made dip.  (Thank you, Karen Buys!)  After the wilting and sautéing happened, there was left-over (but super flavorful) oil.  Which we (and by “we” I obviously mean Daniel) crafted into salad dressing.

Tastes better than it looks,
or rather, better than I can phone-photo.

Organics.  Clean food.  The truly good stuff we make at home.  Yes, it’s more work, but honestly, it’s worth it  (and in the end, cheaper).  Also?  Not one damn bit of it has an onion anywhere nearby.  Which makes it NOT terrible, and in fact, extremely good.

.

A-Journey-ing Along

While we most often equate putting on a body and living this physical life with attending boarding school, there is also the Adventure aspect which we can’t ignore.  The whole “this is so new and strange!” element that just can’t be overlooked.

What I was made aware of this morning is simply another reminder of why we’re here.  And how we can get more out of it all.

Our Chosen Path

This can’t be stressed strongly enough, we are NOT racing to the finish to see who has collected the most crap!  That’s entirely the opposite of our point of being here.

It absolutely is NOT the destination.  It has everything to do with the journey and the roads we select.  Also, when we opt to veer off of a particular avenue.

This is the life we picked, or at least, some version of it.  So, we have to remember why that selection was made.  Once we’ve narrowed it down, and recalled our purpose, we may then proceed.  At whatever pace feels right and appropriate.

Meandering or zipping right along, doesn’t matter, so long as we do it mindfully and with lovingkindness.  For ourselves, and for everyone around us.

One of the other reasons we’re here, in addition to our lessons, is to interact and swap knowledge.  Which is precisely what our daily draw says.

generosity

“Sharing of Yourself  ~

‘I am an incredibly generous being.’

Card meaning:

Share who you are with others.  Give what you have, what you do, and who you are.  Be generous.  The more freely and fully you share of yourself, the more freely and fully the Universe will give to you.

The Universe wants you to know:

You need to share from the depths of your soul.  Allow others to see your essence and feel your radiance.  If you give with the thought that it’s something you must do as a duty or sacrifice, you may feel depleted.

However, if you give with the belief that there is no scarcity of energy, funds, or joy, the Universe will pour an abundance of these things into your life.  Don’t expect to receive something in return – rather, be generous just because it feels right.

You can only give as much as your capacity to receive, so open yourself to receiving even more.

Questions to ask yourself:

How can I give even more?  What is stopping the flow within my life?  What could occur in my life if I gave without reservations?

Affirmation:

I am an incredibly generous being.”
