This morning our message was loud, but not necessarily clear.  It filtered in throughout the day.  (A sort of strange and busy day, it was, too.)

Recently in a business-related e-mail, I wrote that I’m pretty terrible about self-promotion.  Which is kind of what we’re talking about now.  Why is it so hard for us to take credit for our own excellent work?

Honour and Due

It should be easy to say, “hey, look!  I did a great job on that one.”  And yet, the words are difficult to spit out.  They stick and become a bad taste instead of a sweet sound.

We can be proud of ourselves, maybe silently.  But we struggle with taking that credit for a job well done.

The Universe is calling bullshit on all of it.  We are being reminded that there is no such thing as false pride.  When we do our best, and it sparkles?  Own it.   And own it loudly.

On our card altar, this daily draw making an appearance within the regular rotation, speaks of allowing us to offer that same graciousness in the case of ourselves, as we do for others.

“Forgiveness  ~  St Mary Magdalene

You are preparing for a wonderful new chapter in your life, and forgiveness is part of your preparation.

It’s a refreshing and deeply healing shower of love that cleanses you inside and out.

This gives you energy, stamina, high self-esteem, and it frees you to be yourself….. “

Today’s Affirmation:

Dear Archangel Haniel,

thank you for helping me gracefully accept and appreciate myself, others, and my life.

.

Gracious and Kind.

It’s a well known fact that I believe in the universal “perfecting timing/it happens when it’s supposed to happen” concept, right?  Which means that my channeled messages, the shit I wake up with every day now, needed to show up right when it showed up.

Just like the blog progression, and how I began the daily draw feature here.  Evolution, in its most raw state.  Go with the flow, and see where it takes us.  Not an idea I used to be all that comfortable with.  (Still not, quite.  Entirely.)

This was on my mind today as the Deputy and I walked with Grand Dog, meandering around the neighborhood.  (Details and map link below.)  One of my personal goals is to figure out how I’m feeling.  It’s more difficult than it sounds.

What I heard and saw, right before getting out of bed, was an absolute gift, in that regard.  So tremendously beneficial.

Compassion;

not necessarily sacrifice,

but more like adjustments.

And then, ta da!  On our card altar the angels handed us another one.  To match.

The answer to your question involves letting go of resentment, judgement, and anger.  You already know who or what to forgive.  It’s the first person or situation that comes to mind.  You don’t necessarily have to pardon the actions involved, but this card is a message for you to release the toxins of anger toward that person, agency, or situation.  Unforgiveness only hurts you, not the person with whom you are angry.

You’re preparing for a wonderful new chapter of your life, and forgiveness is part of your preparation.  It’s a refreshing and deeply healing shower of love that cleanses you inside and out.  That gives you energy, stamina, and high self-esteem, and it frees you to be yourself.

Call upon St Mary Magdalene to help you to forgive or be forgiven so that you can move on with your life and your dreams.”

The part where this action is healing and cleansing really hit me, in a profound way; I consciously felt that Compassion and Forgiveness, as it misted across my skin.

I will spend some Quiet Time with this card later, and these messages.  It seems like a very empowering and important usage of any number of minutes that we can afford to give ourselves.

Today’s Mileage:

was a wander.  HERE is Dan’s map.  We cut the outing short because Maxx and I were hot (and we didn’t get as early of a start as I had hoped we would).

Today’s Sharing:

doesn’t come with a picture   But I spotted two feathers as we neared home.  We were discussing much of what you’ve just read.  Seeing them both there, right in our path, was entirely validating, touching me in a really special way.

Last Night’s Kitchen Adventure:

turned out to be biscuits.  Because.  Cheese was in the house.  And I had no crackers.  (I’ve tried to make them, but am, so far, not at ALL successful.)

home-made biscuits
This recipe is so nicely consistent.

Turning the oven on might not be my best choice, but after midnight the house gets plenty cool, so it’s not too bad.  Also?  Fucking home-made biscuits, people!  Totally worth it.

Bonus (and Sunny) Together Day

Allow me to open this post with an honest assessment of my current messed-up mental state: faulty but ever hopeful.  I came to some decisions today as we marched around the Town Next Door.  Why were we over there?  Because they have one of these.

No breakfast for me thanks.  I’ll just begin my day with ice cream.

6 of 31 options

You want to know what we got don’t you?  Okay, obviously there’s Daiquiri Ice to start with!  There’s a Lemon Custard, Fudgey something-or-other, Peanut Butter Chocolate, Cherries Jubilee, and Nutty Coconut.  Yes.  They were FANTASTIC!

Fully loaded, we headed off in this direction.  (You know how I love the park.)

And just kept going. We saw exceptionally cool things.  Like the above yard, it had just-starting-to-bloom lilacs and these outstandingly gorgeous tulips.

Speaking of tulips, look at those shutters.  (No, not the same house, or block even.)

Here’s a volunteer, or perhaps an escapee.  We spotted where it had come from, about two feet further along this planter.

I love topiary, especially clever examples.  This was not exactly whimsical, but it was unusual.  I’ve never seen shrubs sculpted to look like stubby cans before.

Dan took this shot.  Cute birdhouse!  (I couldn’t see all the way over the fence.)  That’s when I decided we should have fun birdhouses in our yard.  But sadly there are many near-by obnoxious cats* who would probably climb the poles or fencing and eat the babies.  So I rescinded the suggestion.

*I know, not all cats are bad (or so you tell me).  The ones that live in our neighborhood ARE.  They’re evil and horrible.  Merely pointing this out as a public service.

Now that I’ve insulted you and your pets wanna help me identify a flower?  Thanks!

Here it is from a distance, the way we first noticed it.

And here it is up close.  The leaves are like a blackberry bush, with thorns and everything.  But the blossoms are similar to little mums or carnations or something.  (I know nothing about plants, those are just the puffy types of flowers that popped into my head.)

We were out for nearly two hours, back and forth, up and down, alley crossing and busy street navigating.  At one point we were talking so much we both realized that we’d gone much farther than we’d intended.  As we made our way back in the right direction I came up with my conclusion about the diet/weight/health issue.  And as I did, we saw this.

Here's yer sign.

Validation is a beautiful thing.  And I know it when I see it.

One of the other messages I received today was on our card altar.

“Forgiveness  ~  St Mary Magdalene  ~

Controversy surrounds this saint’s specific relationship with Christ …. Today, St Mary Magdalene is a patron saint of  women.  As someone who was both misunderstood and forgiven, she is a powerful ally when you need to clear a misconception or grievance.”

I took part of that description out, as you can see by the “…… because it was more than we needed.  I have my own ideas about this Mary, as I’m sure many of you do too.  Not pertinent to today’s discussion though.

Like the Reflect card, this one absolutely strikes me as SO freaking beautiful.  The way this illustration is done reaches out and grabs me in a hugely profound way.  (Another validation, by the by.)  And I knew instantly what the situation was when I read the guidebook.

Where it says that we are preparing for a “wonderful new chapter” in our lives also rang true for me.  It’s that manifesting we’ve been doing for a while now.  Which reminds me, I hope all of you are taking your Three Quiet Minutes to visualize your fabulous and dream-worthy future.  When we hold those pictures in our minds we are fastening them into our lives.
