Adjusting and Reconciling

As we work on adapting, evolving, and doing better, our progress can be tracked.  What can also be monitored is our setbacks.  Both are perfectly common.  And yet.  One is clearly more desirable than the other.

Or is it?  I mean, sure, falling down isn’t the way to success.  But maybe when we put them together, they add up to more, and it really is?

When we talk about recovery or improvement we don’t always acknowledge (or even mention) the challenges.  It’s as if we’re thinking we can only share the “good” parts of our journey, not the struggles.  Wait, isn’t it possible though, that all pieces are positive?

Those stumbles and fall-downs and roadblocks and detours?  They can be enormously educational.  And, it turns out, just as “good” as all the other experiences along the way.

Right now we have been asked to look at

timing.

Because even though we aren’t able to see the big picture yet, we are being reassured that we ARE on the right track, we ARE making progress, we ARE heading in the correct direction.

I was in a situation yesterday.   It was super “normal” and very average for an afternoon of running errands.  But, it went ugly in a fast and unexpected way.

Two end-aisle displays, on either side of me as I stood in line, just refused to be ignored.  I began to feel nauseous, sweaty, and hyper aware of my body (specifically of its shape, size, and age).

It was too much.  I left.  I walked out.  I chose to save my mental health.  I went to the car.  Where I sat, in the rain.  It was so cool there, and refreshing.  Nicely overcast and gray, very soothing.  I slowed my breathing, focused on IN and OUT.

I reminded my inner critic that I had value, that I was worthy, that I had as much right to be there as any of those other people.  (That the advertising in all of those products and images were fucking lies.)

As I began to feel safe and centered, it occurred to me that this entire event had a purpose.  I was able to see the arc, the spiral, the activity of what had happened.

This lesson dropped into place, exactly when it was supposed to.  As do they all.  As does our entire life here.  The timing, as they say, is divine.  Not necessarily because of outer sources, but because of our own inner strength and power.

It’s us.  We are in charge of our blueprints, even if we’re not in control, we do have value.  We do have worth.  And we see that, just when we need to most.

This morning our message was loud, but not necessarily clear.  It filtered in throughout the day.  (A sort of strange and busy day, it was, too.)

Recently in a business-related e-mail, I wrote that I’m pretty terrible about self-promotion.  Which is kind of what we’re talking about now.  Why is it so hard for us to take credit for our own excellent work?

Honour and Due

It should be easy to say, “hey, look!  I did a great job on that one.”  And yet, the words are difficult to spit out.  They stick and become a bad taste instead of a sweet sound.

We can be proud of ourselves, maybe silently.  But we struggle with taking that credit for a job well done.

The Universe is calling bullshit on all of it.  We are being reminded that there is no such thing as false pride.  When we do our best, and it sparkles?  Own it.   And own it loudly.

On our card altar, this daily draw making an appearance within the regular rotation, speaks of allowing us to offer that same graciousness in the case of ourselves, as we do for others.

“Forgiveness  ~  St Mary Magdalene

You are preparing for a wonderful new chapter in your life, and forgiveness is part of your preparation.

It’s a refreshing and deeply healing shower of love that cleanses you inside and out.

This gives you energy, stamina, high self-esteem, and it frees you to be yourself….. “

Tonight’s post is nearly an exact hour late.  Due to OPENING DAY OF MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL !!!

No, none of us were lucky enough to actually attend a game this year.  But all electronic devices were needed to hear the play-by-play.   A sacrifice we were all willing to make.  Being the insane “sports ball” fans that this family is made up of.

In regards to the spiritual side of things, probably because my own personal theme is about Self-Care right now, we’re getting messages that swing in that direction.  But it could also simply be that it’s what we all need to hear at this time.

(Apologies for the professional sports puns, all unintentional, I assure you.  I am NOT a pun fan.  They just kept happening.)

 Support is honouring.

First we acknowledge, seeing honestly what the need (or, as Kookaburra said yesterday, the healing) is.  Then we address it.

After that comes the Support: reinforcement and foundation building.   How best to create and manifest, for the highest good of all?

Lastly, we Honour: recognition and tribute.  We are grateful for the lessons brought about and we are blessed in that presence.

Applying this for others or ourselves is the same process.  And, as today’s messenger reminds us, it’s all in the balance, the yin-yang at our very core.

“Goddess of the Shadows  ~

What you perceive to be your dark side holds a hidden treasure.

Realise that any perception or belief you have about yourself or others is actually a deception more than it is a perception.  What you perceive to be your dark side or shadow self holds a hidden treasure.

As humans, we rarely see the full picture in any situation because we are forever stuck in the illusion of good and bad.  You judge your positive and negative qualities and strive to be more of what you perceive to be positive while attempting to disown or neglect those aspects which you consider to be negative.

By holding this belief, you fail to realise that all serves a purpose and that all benefits you in some way.

Everything in our world is made up of positive and negative charges, which together make a whole.  You have been guided to choose this card by your soul, because you are ready to move to the next level of conscious awareness.

Over the coming months you will find yourself questioning many of your long-held beliefs and you will realise that many of them are simply illusions that only serve to keep you feeling small, inadequate, or restricted.

This card heralds the start of a wondrous and empowering period of your life which brings to the surface many beautiful experiences and opportunities which, in the past, you never thought possible.”
